If there's one make-up brand that has every colour you could possibly want to wear, its MAC. The big business is known for its bold, colourful looks so its no surprise that they have a beautiful red with blue undertones that perfectly compliments south asian skin. Called Feels So Grand, it is a deep, true red that’s unapologetically bold. It feels creamy and dries down matte without feeling crumbly or drying. It keeps lips feeling conditioned and can last for hours, provided you don't eat oily food. It's available online and in Mac stores around the country.

Black Up cosmetics is a fantastic brand that surprisingly, I only discovered recently. The French beauty brand was developed by women of colour and creates make-up for women of colour. Although they don't have an extensive shade range, they red they do have is perfect. Called LM05, it is also blue-based and is incredibly long-lasting and transfer-proof. The ultra-pigmented shade dries rapidly and is soft and comfortable to wear. It's available online and in Debenhams stores.

Outlaw by Kat Von D is a must-have red liquid lipstick. The brick-red colour is bright and classic like a true blue-based Hollywood red. In fact the colour compliments most skin tones. Additionally, not only is the formula comfortable and creamy, it is also long-lasting and transfer-proof. But the best bit? The whole brand is vegan and cruelty-free. The brand is known for creating bold colours that suit a diverse range of skin tones and the gorgeous tattoo design on the lipstick bottles is curtesy of the company's namesake, founder and creative director, Kat Von D, who is also a tattoo artist. It's available online and in Debenhams stores.

Surprisingly, Stilla is still a relatively little-known brand, although it has recently been gaining popularity all thanks to their red liquid lipstick, Beso, which adorably means kiss in Spanish. Beso will help you create that ultimate power pout. The bold colour feels creamy and almost weightless on the lips. As well as being transfer and smudge-proof, this is one of the most hydrating lipsticks on the list, so will leave you with soft lips even after you take it off. It's available in Boots, M&S and online.

Finally, this list would not be complete without queen Rihanna's Fenty Beauty's Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored. This shade is a gorgeous deep red that is so intense, you won't need more than one coat. The formula is rich and comfortable and feels luxurious to wear. It practically melts onto the lips. It also has killer staying power. This is one that will not budge, no matter what you do. It is also 100% cruelty free. The applicator is rounded instead of pointed and this actually makes it easier and more comfortable to apply. It's available online and in Boots.
