First British Asian to win Mrs Galaxy UK

Aryana Vashisht is the first British Asian Woman to win the Mrs Galaxy UK pageant title.

The competition, which first launched in the UK in 2008 is one of the most inclusive as there are no height or size restrictions and contestants can be married. As most arenas discriminate on such factors, having a space like this uplifts and motivates all and gives a platform and voice to everyone. Its necessity and success is likely to push for change in those arenas and encourage celebration of body positivity and prove that milestones in life, like marriage, do not stop dreams in other areas of life.

Speaking about her experience, Aryana said, “I competed against 30 girls and won best in interview, best in swimwear, best in fashion wear and best in evening wear. I wore my wedding reception dress and fulfilled my dream for my final pageant. I won lots of prizes but the main prize is a flight to the USA to compete internationally and represent the UK!” Winners are send to America to compete in the Galaxy International Pageant.

Aryana says, “I am a radio presenter and a part qualified trade mark attorney. Swapping my microphone & IP books for the stage and heels!” Her participation and ultimate win is a victory for representation and inspires brown women everyone. We can’t wait to see what she achieves next.
